Join as we explore the Switchfoot Bro Am Fest that is put on annually by the local San Diego rock band, Switchfoot at Moonlight Beach.
What is the Switchfoot Bro Am Beach Fest?
After several world tours, Switchfoot came up with the idea to put together an event in their hometown in San Diego. Combining their love for surf and music, the Switchfoot Bro Am includes a free surf competition and concert. The whole event is a beneficiary event for the San Diego community to serve underserved youth. They emphasize supporting programs related to music, arts and surfing including the Challenged Athletes Foundation and A Step Beyond.
The Switchfoot Bro Am Beach Fest happens every year at the start of summer in June.
Bro Am Surf Competition
The day kicks off with a surf competition featuring San Diego’s youth. You must be 17 or younger to be eligible. 24 participants compete with a winner being crowned on both style points and points for having the most fun!
Local legend, Rob Machado helps in leading this fun spirited surf competition. The event takes place at D Street surf break.
Switchfoot Bro Am Lineup (Concert)
Following the surf competition, a concert kicks off directly on Moonlight Beach. Local artists are always part of the Bro Am lineup. Stay tuned for updates on which artists are participating in this year’s event. Of course, the headliner is always Switchfoot!
Food and Vendors
With over 17,000 attendees each year, the Bro Am is a great place for vendors to showcase their brand. Typically, vendors include local food companies and surf brands. As an attendee of this event – there are plenty of good treats to satisfy you!
